History and Mission
McAuley School is a private, non-profit day program for students with multiple disabilities. McAuley School offers a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary approach to teaching students ages 5 to 21 years with a strong focus on the entire family.
McAuley School was founded in 1966. The school's new location is North Plainfield, New Jersey.
The goal of McAuley School is to assist the cognitively impaired person become as independent and productive as possible; thereby gaining acceptance as an equal and contributing member of society.
The building of healthy relationships, the worthy use of leisure time, functional knowledge and vocational training are goals we set for each student.
Our educators strive to lead our students to live in harmony with themselves and their neighbors; assist in cultivating a general interest in the events of the world and encourage service to the community. We help to develop ideals, attitudes and the emotional control necessary for social adjustment. Ultimately, the student who graduates from McAuley School has been taught, nurtured and guided toward a fulfilling and productive life.
